Bureau Services at a 5 star hotel, India
A luxury hotel in India wanted comprehensive information about the energy consumption and its trend mapped with the source of supply.
The automated meter reading system installed by us and the information provided by it led to a saving of Rs. 0.5 million. They were able to reduce their dependence on the diesel generator, reducing the total energy costs.

Distribution reforms and metering
The vertically integrated State Electricity Boards were created for generation,
transmission and distribution of electricity as per the provision of the Indian
Electricity Act. This structure has yielded reasonable results with respect to
rural electrification but supply of power below cost of supply to various
categories of consumers resulted in bankruptcy of almost all the electricity boards in the country.

Harmonics in power system and metering
The issue of harmonics is debated at various
levels. Harmonics are generated in the system.
Generally the effect of harmonics is studied in
voltage or current. The current harmonics flow in
the system generates voltage harmonics which
results into power harmonics. Power harmonics
are than measured by energy meters. The flow of
power harmonics and it effect on the energy
measurement is discussed in this paper.

Interoperability standard for energy meters - an indian experience
The electricity utilities all over the world have invested huge sum of money
in electronic metering assets over the past two decades or so. The primary
motivation to switch to electronic metering has been the potential use of
the information that these meters could provide. The data provided by
most of the electronic meters can not only be used for billing, but also be
harnessed for a host of other business processes like revenue protection,
tariff design, energy accounting, load analysis,

kvah metering magic solution or an aberration
The search for innovative solutions has lead to the concept of kVAh
metering. Measurement of kVAh and related tariffs are expected to help in
reducing reactive currents in the system by commercially motivating
consumers to install reactive compensation at their premises.

Performance monitoring of boiler feed pumps in a middle eastern refinery
To asses which boiler feed pumps required rehabilitation, to improve the condition of the asset, reduce costs and carbon footprint, the refinery wanted to carry out pump performance tests.
The results using our performance system showed that all the pumps though efficient, failed to reach their design duty.

Performance monitoring of chilled water pumps in a UK food processing plant
Our pump monitoring system provided accurate and real time performance monitoring and information to the plant managers. They could assess which pressurisation pump required rehabilitation. This led to an improvement in the condition of the asset and reduced operating costs and carbon foot print.

Performance monitoring of pit pressurisation pumps in a UK Open Cast Mine
The purpose of the tests was to reduce the operating costs and the carbon footprint of the pumps by measuring the performance of pressurisation pumps and assessing which of these required rehabilitation.
The testing of the pumps and system highlighted the benefits of real time performance monitoring in providing accurate performance information.

Performance monitoring of seawater intake pumps in a Middle Eastern petrochemical plant
A petrochemical plant needed fixed monitoring equipment to provide real time pump performance information to operators. In addition, they needed to check the performance of all pumps individually and formulate a pumping schedule which would enable energy saving.
By using our Yatesmeter fixed pump monitors, they were able controls their pumps and produce optimum operating conditions at various levels of flow.
