Secure Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Solution using Distribution-line Carrier (DLC)

This solution is designed for large buildings and housing complexes with multi-utility services in which the accounting is performed by the landlord or managing agent rather than by the utility suppliers.

It consists of meters at each point of consumption for electricity, gas, water and heat, connected to a back-end computer at a central location within the building or complex. The existing electricity distribution cables are used for communications, via DLC technology, between the meters and the suppliers back end system. The meters communicate with in-home devices through LPR.

The back-end computer periodically interrogates the meters, logs the readings, generates invoices and manages the accounts. Our solution is ideal for installations where the cost of installing communications cabling would be prohibitive and where short-range radio technology would be unreliable.
