Maxcheck

Large industrial and commercial consumers face penalties if they exceed the rated maximum demand value agreed with their supplier. Monitoring the demand value requires specialised equipment, synchronised with the supplier's demand integration period.

Secure Maxcheck Maximum Demand Controller (Maximum Demand Controller) is a powerful tool for large consumers and utilities faced with the need to manage loads to avoid penalties and to ensure security of supply. It has many advanced features compared with conventional set-point devices.

The Maximum Demand Controller provides predictive demand control functionality, thereby alerting consumers about potential excursions. Alarm signals allow enough time for consumers to reduce load and avoid penalty charges. The controller provides a multi-level priority-based automatic load control mechanism that optimises the time at which loads are disconnected.

The controller helps in load planning by continuously indicating loads that can be added or which need to be disconnected, whilst remaining within safe operating limits.

Maximum Demand Controller can be programmed by a hand-held unit for variable allowed maximum demand limits. It also supports programming of varying allowed maximum demand limits for different time-of-use (TOU) zones. The programmer also acts as a device for configuring the Maximum Demand Controller set up environment.

The controller also acts as a precision check meter for energy class 0.5s accuracy. When used in conjunction with the optional Maximum Demand Controller reading instrument and base computer software, it becomes a powerful tool for load profiling and billing purposes, as well.

Applications

  • ABT accounting
  • ABT monitoring
  • Load profiling

Features

  • Maximum Demand Controller unit with one alarm and three trip control outputs.
  • Check meter for energy, integrated into the Maximum Demand Controller
  • Hand-held Maximum Demand Controller programmer for configuring and setting up the Maximum Demand Controller control parameters.
  • Optional Maximum Demand Controller Reading Instrument (MRI), for reading energy data from the check meter. This can read out all the relevant data from the Maximum Demand Controller.
  • Optional Base Computer Software (BCS), a computer system that works in conjunction working with the MRI for data management and presentation of the readings from the Maximum Demand Controller.
