M31-1

M31-1 is the name of our innovative solution for metering for multiple-occupancy buildings. M31-1 solves two of the most commonly encountered problems in such applications; it is easy to install and has integrated Power-line Carrier (PLC) communications functionality

The M31-1 three-phase meter can be easily connected to new or existing low voltage circuits using an integrated harness which carries the current transformer and voltage-tap connections. The voltage connections are used for measurement and for PLC communications, avoiding the complexity and expense of additional wiring. Communication via the existing mains cabling also solves the problem of poor performance that can affect low-power radio systems when used in buildings with multiple floors. True ‘Plug&Play’ functionality means that each meter identifies itself to the communications system when it is installed. The meter is physically compact and can be fitted in locations where a traditional meter would not fit.

M31-1 uses high performance TriDelta™ PLC technology to ensure reliable two-way communications with the meter for billing and programming. TriDelta™ automatically varies phase, frequency and bit-rate in order to achieve optimum communications efficiency.
